At 12:05 pm the meeting was called to order by President Larry Smith, 17 members were in attendance:  Larry Smith, Nathan Long, George Moberg, Roy Sees, Frank Purcell, Don Weidner, Mark Lemon, Art Willey, Keith Green, Roger Russell, Butch Lemon, Joe Blosser, Sam Samuelson, Gary Church, Steve Wrubleski, and Shawn Lemon.

 

Mark Lemon read the secretary’s report and the members accepted it.

 

Frank Purcell read the treasurer’s report and the members accepted it.

 

Butch Lemon asked about the spring fly-in and it was discussed and agreed to leave the name as the Jim Ramsey Memorial Fly-in.

 

Larry asked the members for a volunteer for Activities Coordinator for planning  model related activities for the club. This person would be responsible for the workshops involving model airplane building and covering tips. George Moberg volunteered for the position.

 

Larry stated that Ed Beikirch is the Membership Chairman and he is directing Ed to put a committee together for this purpose and to report

their plans at the March Business Meeting.

 

Larry stated he needed a chairman for the Jim Ramsey Fly-in to be held June 5 and 6 2004. The chairman will set up an organizational meeting as soon as possible and Larry will meet with this group.  Butch Lemon volunteered to head this group. Larry stated the club would be doing the concessions for the Fly-in.

 

Larry wants to appoint skilled members to form a ground instruction help program to work directly with the Flight Instructors, to provide a complete training program.

 

Larry stated if you have any information that you want in the newsletter you could contact Doug Smith as soon as possible at cessnaskyhawk@Hotmail.com .

 

Larry would also like to appoint a chairman for the Control Line flying

to introduce new people to the hobby. Larry asked members to build and fly Control Line planes to utilize the area.

 

Larry reminded members to go to Web page to get current information.

Larry stated the combination for the locks were changed and to get the new number contact Larry and/or Frank Purcell.

 

Roy Sees discussed the need to find a way to thank the landowners for the use of the field. Larry appointed Keith Green.

 

There will be a sign-up sheet in the club house for anyone interested in hats, shirts and jackets with the club logo.

 

Roy Sees reminded members that the field would need to be rolled the first of March as weather permits. The club will need to purchase gravel and fertilizer.

 

Joe Blosser reminded members that on February 19, 2004 at the Boys Club of Parkersburg they will be able to fly electric planes from 9:00 – 10:00pm.
